Public Relations Specialist – Media
Major U.S. Multinational Law Firm
Location: New York, NY – Midtown Manhattan
The Firm: Multinational law firm in every major global capital and related business centers

Summary: The Public Relations Specialist will report to the Firm’s Global Marketing and Communication Department leadership.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the collaboration of mass media and review of daily news releases in the press

Assist in general news monitoring, relatable to the Firm, as well as monitoring industry-specific publications such as Chambers, Law360 and American Lawyer

Support PR activities and respond to interview requests; prepare and facilitate partner interviews with the press, draft firm press releases and provide guidance to attorneys as necessary

Familiar with maintaining highly confidential Corporate, Legal, Finance and or M&A, Capital Markets and or Private Equity information prior to release date.

Create directories and award plans, gather and share insight with the Firm’s marketing staff.

Manage Press Interviews and logistics

Conducts research on media outlets and reporters to aid in outreach and to prepare partners for press interviews

Create media lists and general media outreach related to the firms’ initiatives

Assists in handling client- and topic-specific media analysis and other research projects

Heavy media tracking within multiple disciplines

Place bylined articles and submits Firm-authored client mailings for republication with various outlets
Required Skills:

A minimum of (1-2) one to two years of related public relations or corporate communications experience working in a large law firm or substantial financial institution.

A minimum of 3 years, of total work experience

Able to work on multiple projects and meet time-sensitive deadlines

Excellent writing and editorial skills

An attention to detail without losing sight of strategic goals

Think creatively and pragmatically; for a sophisticated corporate audience

Able to organize/prioritize work as part of a team or independently

Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating, special event, press conferences and business needs
