Public Relations Specialist – Media
Major U.S. Multinational Law Firm

 

Location: New York, NY – Midtown Manhattan

The Firm: Multinational law firm in every major global capital and related business centers

Summary: The Public Relations Specialist will report to the Firm’s Global Marketing and Communication Department leadership.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the collaboration of mass media and review of daily news releases in the press

  • Assist in general news monitoring, relatable to the Firm, as well as monitoring industry-specific publications such as Chambers, Law360 and American Lawyer

  • Support PR activities and respond to interview requests; prepare and facilitate partner interviews with the press, draft firm press releases and provide guidance to attorneys as necessary

  • Familiar with maintaining highly confidential Corporate, Legal, Finance and or M&A, Capital Markets and or Private Equity information prior to release date.  

  • Create directories and award plans, gather and share insight with the Firm’s marketing staff.

  • Manage Press Interviews and logistics

  • Conducts research on media outlets and reporters to aid in outreach and to prepare partners for press interviews

  • Create media lists and general media outreach related to the firms’ initiatives

  • Assists in handling client- and topic-specific media analysis and other research projects

  • Heavy media tracking within multiple disciplines

  • Place bylined articles and submits Firm-authored client mailings for republication with various outlets

 

Required Skills:

  • A minimum of (1-2) one to two years of related public relations or corporate communications experience working in a large law firm or substantial financial institution.

  • A minimum of 3 years, of total work experience

  • Able to work on multiple projects and meet time-sensitive deadlines

  • Excellent writing and editorial skills

  • An attention to detail without losing sight of strategic goals

  • Think creatively and pragmatically; for a sophisticated corporate audience

  • Able to organize/prioritize work as part of a team or independently

  • Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating, special event, press conferences and business needs

  • A person seeking growth, stability and security with a very large global law firm.

  • The ability to maintain highly confidential M&A, Corporate Law, Finance, Capital Markets and or Private Equity information prior to the release date that could affect the stock market.
