Fiduciary Accountant
(Private Client Services)

 

LOCATION: Garden City, New York

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Base salary up to $135,000 plus paid Overtime, Bonus, Medical, Dental and Vision benefits, generous vacation and sick/personal days, paid holidays, 401K, and more!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

​

• Oversee complex accountings for trusts and estates portfolios for high net worth clients 

• Prepare and finalize federal and state income tax returns, estate tax returns, and gift tax returns

• Preparation of workpapers and lead sheets for complex tax returns

• Provide description and analysis of acts of trustee or executor on particular matters including, but not limited to, account fundings, receipts and disbursements, or investment performance

• Work with various stakeholders including third party accounting firms, internal partners, and other law firms

• Confirm funds are allocated correctly

• Document interpretation and risk management

• Prepare tax projections and related estimated payments

• Research and consult with management on various client-related tax matters

• Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities

• Develop and edit correspondence, memoranda, and other client deliverables as needed

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

​

• 5+ years of Trust and/or Estate accounting or paralegal experience

• Bachelor’s Degree required

• Experience in complex accounting matters for trusts and estates

• Knowledge of trust and estate income taxation

• Ability to work with high-profile clients on a daily basis

• The ability to work well under pressure and to coordinate several activities at once with limited direction

• The initiative to problem-solve and meet strict deadlines

• Strong research skills
