SUMMARY: The Litigation Paralegal will work in an upbeat and positive team environment assisting litigation attorneys in all phases of the litigation lifecycle, ranging from pre-complaint investigation through trial and appeal. This is interesting and stimulating work for a paralegal who enjoys litigation and working with a dedicated team that shares knowledge and promotes career advancement. The ability to maintain confidentiality on high-profile matters.
Key Responsibilities

Create and oversee exhibits for trial

Utilize Relativity, DISCO, Concordance, etc.

Actively participate in document collection and production, deposition preparation, hearings and trials
-
Set up war rooms and attend trial as needed
-
Organize and maintain case files using a variety of automated procedures
-
Employ databases for searches and document retrieval
-
Conduct cite checks and case pulls using LexisNexis and/or Westlaw databases
-
Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery in preparation for and participation in trial
-
Review and analyze large volumes of data to be produced in litigation
-
Review documents for privilege and draft privilege logs for attorney review
-
Provide ongoing communication between an international network of counsel and clients to assist and expedite case settlements for the maximization of collections

Finalize, file and service briefs, motions and other filings

Prepare for trials in State and Federal Court; manage trial support

Assemble materials and files necessary for conferences, depositions or court

Meet the Firm’s standards of excellence in supporting attorney teams

Play an active role in helping the Firm to provide legal services of the highest caliber to the clients

Organize and maintain case files using a variety of automated procedures
Skills and Experience Required
-
2 years of litigation paralegal experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree
-
Well skilled with legal research, cite-checking, bluebooking and shepardizing
-
Thorough knowledge of the discovery process, including preparation of privilege logs
-
Excellent interpersonal skills with a talent for developing a rapport with clients, attorneys and co-workers. This is a great environment to work in with an upbeat, positive and social culture that everyone enjoys.

Proficiency with e-filing, e-discovery, including Relativity, Summation, Concordance, Documatirx, Live Note, LexisNexis, Westlaw, Microsoft Office, PC Law, Worldox, etc.
