Summary: Top-ranked AM multinational law firm is seeking a Paralegal and Legal Support Staff Supervisor to support the Boston Office. The Paralegal | Legal Secretary Supervisor will supervise the daily workflow of all paralegals / legal assistants and legal secretaries within the Boston Office. Approximately 20 employees. Heavy interaction with cross-functional departments regarding department needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall paralegal | secretarial, legal assistant and departmental management relationships with regard to paralegal and legal secretarial assistant matters

  • Maintain a solid understanding of all aspects of services provided in your Paralegal | Secretarial Department and the Firm's Case Management, and Litigation Departments to be proactive. 

  • Maintain an active working relationship with Partner(s) and Senior Management to evaluate departmental procedures and implement changes as appropriate

  • Develop, implement and maintain the department’s procedures and best practice guidelines; and make appropriate recommendations

  • Assist with hiring, orientations and ongoing training of those in your department

  • Maintain budgets in areas of responsibility

  • Keep abreast of developments in the legal market to ensure the departmental practices are current

  • Direct coordination of paralegal and secretarial projects: identify resources required, oversee ongoing projects and communicate effectively with administration

  • Actively source for alternative methods and best practices for all workflow and procedures

  • Manage and address employee and performance issues to ensure optimal results

  • Oversee the development of team members and provide the necessary training



  • 5-7+ years of supervisory experience in a law firm preferred

  • The ability to manage approximately 20-24 paralegals, legal assistants and secretaries based on fluctuating needs.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; JD would be a plus

  • Excellent well-developed management and interpersonal skills and organizational skills

  • Ability to interface, develop and maintain professional relationships with attorneys and staff

  • Ability to positively tackle problems, provide solutions and engage with others to ensure proactive steps are taken

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines under time constraints
