Location: Midtown Manhattan – New York, NY

The Firm: Large Multinational Law Firm with offices worldwide.

Summary: The Legal Secretary/Administrative Assistant will provide support to a group of principals in multiple departments on a daily basis. In addition to excellent communications and a mastery of office skills, this role requires the ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision, take initiative and make decisions within the scope of assigned authority.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide gatekeeping, administrative and word processing support to Partners and Associates

  • Assist Executives with overseeing and facilitating day-to-day activities

  • Type and edit pleadings and other documents quickly and accurately, proofreading for content and typographical errors

  • Handle general administrative duties such as travel arrangements, calendaring deadlines, deposition coordination, meeting coordination, client service, expense reports and time entry

  • Answer telephone calls, taking messages or providing information as appropriate

  • Open mail and handle correspondence

  • Greet guests or clients for the department managers

  • Attend to photocopying, faxing, filing, calling for maintenance requests, field requests regarding policy information and personnel issues

  • Open and close files as necessary, promptly handling the filing of legal or other administrative materials


Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of legal experience. Can be combined legal internships and or work experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate work, maintain confidentiality, and think critically and analytically under pressure

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work productively and cooperatively with all levels of staff
