One of America’s largest and “respectfully noted” global law firms is seeking a talented paralegal with structured finance, credit agreement or bond experience to join one of the most respected financial environments servicing the Vault 50 and Fortune 50, in the world.

Summary

 

As a Senior Finance Paralegal, you will be a critical member of a highly respected deal team for the Firm’s sophisticated financing matters. You will be in continuous communication with the partners and associates on the Firm’s financial team, and will have direct contact with clients and opposing counsel.

 

The position requires strong organizational skills, strong oral and business e-mail communication skills, and computer proficiency.   These are highly confidential transactions.  A person with Credit Agreement or Bond exposure would be a perfect fit for the team.

 

Location – New York, NY – Midtown Manhattan

  • Six figure base salary and well-paid overtime plus Bonus.  Package at $265,000

Responsibilities

 

  • Work directly with attorneys and clients on all phases of a transaction, and assist in coordinating financing transactions from inception to closing

  • Serve as a critical liaison with the client and any outside law firms to facilitate the transaction.

  • Prepare important documentation, including signing and closing checklists, certificates, document indexes, signature pages, and working group lists

  • Assist attorneys and clients in preparing schedules and closing documentation

  • Oversee outside service agencies when they perform lien searches, good standing checks, and similar tasks

  • Prepare and file financing statements

  • Prepare executed documents to ensure proper execution, the inclusion of all attachments and page correctness

  • Assist with preparing and updating critical group projects and resources, including maintaining transaction and precedent lists, analyzing deal data, assisting with preparation of materials for speaking engagements, and research as requested

  • Perform other tasks as directed by attorneys and maintain deal confidentiality

 

Related Skills and Experience Required

 

2+ years of paralegal or legal assistant experience at a law firm or financial institution with any related to the below:  

  • Structured Finance or Corporate Finance or Finance

  • Bonds or Credit Agreements

  • Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLO's)

  • Collateralized or Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS)

  • All are welcome to apply with any related experience

  • Self-starter who takes initiative and enjoys being part of a team. 

  • A person who can work with Vault 50 and Fortune 50 level clients on highly confidential transactions.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and prioritize numerous tasks

  • Excellent organizational skills and an attention to detail

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Long-term career aspirations with a leading global law firm.  A person who enjoys important legal or financial matters that have substantial impacts on markets.

  • Comprehensive computer skills with MS Office and Adobe Professional with the ability to learn new technology quickly.

  • Professionalism, social decorum, and sound judgment

  • A willingness to work long hours and to be on call for important matters and tasks and to be compensated well for overtime.  The Firm has a tradition of compensating professionals well.

  • The ability to maintain highly confidential financial transactions that could sway markets, results or corporate reporting.

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree required.
