Marketing / Advertising / Media / PR Generalist 




Base $80,000 to $120,000 and bonus eligible with additional financial incentives based on MBO’s and KPI’s.  Exceptional health and retirement benefits are provided by the firm. Generous PTO.  


LOCATION:  New York City, NY




SUMMARY: The Marketing, PR and Advertising Specialist will report directly to the Managing Partners to create, implement and develop the law firms’ full marketing potential.  This Executive under the direction of the Managing Partner will tackle and take strategic ownership of the law firm’s marketing, media, advertising and PR responsibilities.  This is an exciting and rewarding position for someone who wants career stability, security and growth with a respected National law firm.  




  • Work with TV, Print and Online media buying community to obtain best pricing for the firm’s media budget and explore programmatic opportunities to optimize pricing

  • Create and manage marketing strategy, calendar and budget

  • Monitor, maintain and enhance social media reach, web presence, website assets and strategies using SEO analytics

  • Responsible for marketing relations and name recognition around the firm’s expertise, significant matters and clients

  • Design and maintain the firm’s PR function to address marketing opportunities on a proactive & reactive basis, as well as coordinate messaging with the firm’s related non-profit Foundation

  • Identify key marketing relationship initiatives to increase brand awareness, achieve positive media coverage, identify and monitor key brand influencers and measure PR initiatives through analytics

  • Manage vendor relationships and collaborate in identifying placement and visibility opportunities

  • Manage media outlets to increase community engagement, practice area expertise , brand and client referrals  

  • Maintain and engage in local community relationships to increase client referral opportunities

  • Draft press releases and related announcements, along with firm growth and case announcements

  • Identify speaking, writing and community engagement opportunities; report on major achievements

  • Pro-actively present ideas to Partners to increase the firm’s online visibility by identifying new e-media outlets and online publications/blogs, and monitor online Media/PR developments and trends

  • Develop and coordinate practice news e-blasts

  • Create, edit, update and maintain attorney biographies, Firm rankings, practice descriptions and experience lists for use in the firm's marketing and business development initiatives

  • Manage local events, seminars, speaking engagements, public relations and community activities; including managing budget, site selection, development of invite list, invitation process, event logistics, site set-up, CLE planning and post event follow-up

  • Research and analyze trends in personal injury/product liability and identify new client referral/business opportunities

  • Build marketing opportunities to raise Firm and Attorney visibility including sponsorships, writing opportunities, client panels and presentations; arranging budget and logistics for participation

  • Conduct research of prospective targets, industries, markets, competition and conflicts via firm-wide resources, online databases, and library searches

  • Stay abreast of developments and trends in business development, communications and marketing

  • Identify opportunities for placement of written articles, white papers, newsletters, and other firm-published commentary and analyze materials




  • 5+ years of related marketing, media, business development and/or practice development experience with a professional services organization

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in Marketing or Business Administration is a plus

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills to positively represent the firm to the press, media and legal industries.

  • Ability to transfer the firm’s business goals into conceiving, developing, executing and brining marketing, PR and media programs to fruition  

  • Knowledge of cross-platform initiatives for TV, Online & Print

  • Knowledge of optimizing, pricing and purchasing media through media buying services, advertising agencies and getting pricing through programmatic.

  • Knowledge of media analytics and metrics. The ability to determine success through analytics and most important, new business

  • Ability to work within a collaborative team environment and autonomously to strategically conceive and lead initiatives  

  • Proven ability to work well with deadlines and bring programs to fruition in a timely manner
